With over 100 years of history, Fat Siu Lau's reputation is built on its extraordinary Portuguese-styled Western cuisine. Its founder, Mr.Wong Man Sing, was born in Cheng Zhou, Zhong Shan and first established Restaurante Fat Siu Lau in a two-storey wooden building at Trav. Do Matadouro, Macau. With hard work and perseverance, Fat Siu Lau soon became very popular and was quickly expanded and relocated to nearby Rua da Felicidade (the historical red light district), where it is still located today.
At the beginning of the 21st century, Restaurante Fat Siu Lau is now run by the 3rd and 4th generations of Mr. Wong Man Sing’s family. Combined with over 100 years of experience in fine cuisine and first class service, Fat Siu Lau’s unique and appetizing recipes have attracted local and Hong Kong chefs to sample its cuisine. The “Shek Ki Superb Roasted Pigeon” is Fat Siu Lau’s signature dish. The recipe to the flavourful marinade has been a closely guarded secret for 100 years and has made this roasted pigeon dish a legend. Other famous dishes include Grilled King Prawns, Curry Crab, Stuffed Crabmeat in Shell, Steak “Amalo” and Prawn Bisque, all of which are absolutely scrumptious.
In 2006, Restaurante Fat Siu Lau 2, the first branch in a century, is established in Macau's Lan Kwai Fong, with a contemporary architectural design and a dynamic atmosphere appealing to all. |
